Mission Statement

Like a good friend, Nippers is here to offer uncompromising opinions and recommendations about Santa Barbara area restaurants and wines. Nippers provides restaurant and wine reviews from professional food and wine writers who collectively have several lifetimes of experience in food preparation, restaurant management, restaurant critique and wine review. Nippers does not accept payment from restaurants for reviews nor complimentary meals. Content is king on the Internet and Nippers strives to provide deep content about dining and wine for Santa Barbara.

Philosophy

We believe that good dining is an art and should be recognized.

We believe that a good dining experience combines multiple elements including well prepared, high quality food, efficient service, fair prices, appealing ambience, and a comprehensive beverage selection.

We believe that once a restaurant opens for business it should be judged against all other restaurants and not given excuses because it is new. After all does the restaurant, just because its new, discount your meal?

We believe in fair, objective critiques.

We believe that opinions shared are constructive to both the restaurant in correcting and improving it’s operation and for the public awareness and education for quality dining.

We believe that a free, open forum for public opinion provides shared experiences and multiple viewpoints which is healthy for Santa Barbara’s restaurant community.

We believe that good food deserves good wine and that Santa Barbara County produces some high quality varietals that should be acknowledged.
